There were a few true fans in the crowd—one person had a tattoo of the novel’s circular section dividers on his wrist, and his friend said she was reading the novel for the fourth time.
Balance The Grind | August 31, 2020
I was interviewed in an article about the day to day of my job to share my approach to the ever elusive work/life balance.

What I love about my job is that every day is different and I really mean that. It mirrors the way I live in NYC – every single day is always special and unique depending on who I interact with during it.
"Share Your Shelf"
Project Feature: "Share Your Shelf"
My Tumblr project, "Share Your Shelf," where I curated and published user-submitted photos of people's bookshelves, was featured in several publications for its unique insight into a reader's personality.
- The Guardian: "Only a bookshelf can truly hold a reader's history and future at the same time, while the present is usually found in a book bag or on a nightstand nearby. A lifelong reader myself, I've always had an obsession with seeing a person's bookshelf, to get a sense of what they've brought inside their home and their head. Bookshelves are universal in that almost everyone has one, and unique in that no two collections are the same. They reflect much more than just the book-buying habits of their owner. Titles are easy to acquire and even easier to sell off or leave behind, so if it's worthy of your shelf space, I want to know why." Read my op-ed here.

- The Rumpus: "Your bookshelf is an intimate physical representation of your accomplishments, aspirations… and countless other tells." Read the article here.

- Flavorwire: "Sharing your shelf is sharing yourself – showcasing the building blocks that have crafted your knowledge, personality, and identity." Read the article here.

- Shelf Awareness: "'What does your bookshelf say about you?'… as a 'lifelong reader myself, I've always had an obsession with seeing a person's bookshelf…" Read the article here.

- Mental Floss: Featured as an "Awesome new Tumblr alert." Read the article here.

- The Millions: The project was included in the "Tumblr Index: Your Guide to Artistic and Literary Tumblrs." Read the article here.

- Trending Tumblrs: The project was featured in a spread in the printed book Trending Tumblrs. Buy the book here.

Real Estate + Relationships

I was profiled in an article on the dynamics of "inter-borough dating" in New York City and what it takes to make a relationship work across the city.

"Inter-borough dating makes weaker relationships fall apart faster but can strengthen strong relationships by making you commit to them. There were no pop-by, spontaneous dates; there were planned events where we were fully in the moment."
Chicago Tribune | July 11, 2012
The Chicago Tribune featured a piece of my dating advice: "Always buy two tickets." They shared the story of how I bought two tickets to a Death Cab for Cutie concert while single, and months later, ended up taking Andrea to the show.
